Hakawati Nation - Episode 2

We created an episode for Hakawati Nation, a series available on the streaming platform MBC Shahid.

This episode is based on a traditional Arab folktale about a woman who longs for a child. One day, a magical talking tree grants her wish and gives her a wooden boy, carved from its branches. Though not truly alive, he brings joy to her life, helping with daily chores and keeping her company.

Character Design

The characters have a storybook quality - colorful, stylized, and expressive, perfectly suited for a young audience. Our team took these designs and brought them to life through animation, carefully adding emotional nuance, movement, and detail.

Storyboard into Animation

Our role was to breathe life into characters. We worked closely with the layout
and timing to ensure pacing matched the emotional beats of the tale. Emphasis was placed on facial expression to enrich the storytelling and fully engage our young audience.

Making Of

All characters were animated in Moho, which once again proved perfect for smooth, expressive movement. It helped us bring fluid body motion, clean lip-sync, and just the right emotional touch to every scene.
