Mascot for Amazon Studios Technology
Amazon needed branding for their Amazon Studios Technology. We were up for the task without hesitation. The logo that we designed introduces Olo, the character we’ve developed and created especially for Amazon’s needs.
In fact, Olo was welcomed to the Amazon family with arms wide open. This amiable robot will even make its way from animation into the real world.
Character Design
For this project, we needed to design a helpful and adorable robot that would guide users through the Studios Technology systems.
After creating several sketches, we decided on the final design: a flying robot with a screen-like face and a couple of hidden mechanical arms.
Emotions & Behaviour
Before moving on to vectorizing the character, we needed to create a series of sketches showing our little robot’s emotions, as well as different poses and behaviors.
We used the robot’s screen-like face to display various symbols that would change depending on the function it was performing.
Meet Olo!
Finally, we moved on to illustrating the mascot to give it its final look. We worked with Amazon’s color scheme so orange, black, and white, to ensure consistency with the brand’s visual identity.
Working with such a limited palette can be challenging, but we managed to create a highly likable and recognizable character for our client.
