World Relief
We collaborated with Demo Duck to create an animated video for World Relief, highlighting the reality faced by many families experiencing forced displacement around the world.
The goal was to translate this complex and emotional topic into a visual narrative that is clear, respectful, and human-centered. The project demonstrates how visual storytelling can help build understanding and encourage meaningful action.
Style
The visual style of the animation is built on contrast between two emotional worlds. Bright, warm scenes appear on soft beige backgrounds with light pastel colors to evoke safety and hope. Darker sequences shift to muted purples and desaturated tones, with sharper shapes expressing tension and uncertainty.
Illustrations stay simple and character-focused, using clean silhouettes, minimal facial details, and subtle hand-drawn textures. This balance allows the story to move naturally between heavy and uplifting moments while color acts as the main emotional guide.
Making of
The character animation was created in Moho, which gave us precise control over movement and timing. We concentrated on natural body motion, clear silhouettes, and small gestures that could carry emotion without relying on dialogue. This approach kept the animation lightweight while still allowing each scene to feel alive and expressive.
